Start with ONE exercise… and build from there

As a coach, the most popular excuse that I hear for not doing a workout is some version of “I didn’t have time.”

It can sound like:

  • “Too busy.”
  • “Crazy day at the office!”
  • “The kids were out of control… couldn’t get them to sleep.”
  • “The in-laws popped in for an unexpected visit.”
  • “My alarm didn’t go off!”
  • “Traffic.”
  • “Kids had soccer, baseball, gymnastics, ballet, hockey,…”

We all make excuses for not having time to fit in a workout.  I’ve done it too.

And I think part of the reason we do this is because we believe that exercise has to take up a BIG CHUNK of time.

And when we think of this BIG CHUNK of time, we begin to feel OVERWHELMED by the whole idea of exercise.

And feeling overwhelmed usually leads to PROCRASTINATION.

Which means absolutely NOTHING GETS DONE… No workout, no walk, no movement.

BUT…

If we just did something, even something small, we would make progress, the needle would move in the right direction.

And that’s why one of my biggest fitness coaching principles is that DOING SOMETHING ALWAYS BEATS DOING NOTHING

So, in other words, doing one push up beats doing none;

Going for a 5 minute walk beats sitting on the sofa and eating popcorn;

And taking your bike to the store beats taking your car.

Basically, if you begin to see every single SOMETHING you do as a step forward for your body, your body will begin to change.

Because those small SOMETHINGS add up fast.

They’re like a building blocks that, when you stack on top of each other, in no time you have a block tower higher than your house.

So, to put this concept into action, I’m bringing back a summer challenge from last year… and it’s FREE.

Beginning tomorrow, July 1st, I’m daring you to do this building block fitness challenge.

My goal in offering this challenge is to help you build a cardio and strength training habit, ONE exercise at a time.

So, what exactly is a building block challenge?

Well, each day in July you’ll be receiving ONE new exercise from me – that’s one block.

Each subsequent day, you’ll receive another exercise – another block – to add onto the previous day… and so on.

Included with each exercise will be a video link, demonstrating the exercise, as well as the number of repetitions you’ll need to do.

Before you know it you’ll have a building block tower of exercises and a simple, fun, and well-rounded workout plan.

Exercises will include cardio as well as strength exercises for the legs, arms, back, and core.

All you need to do to get the daily exercises , is sign up right here.

Once you’re signed up, each morning in July you’ll see a new exercise in your inbox, which will build on the previous ones.

It’s a simple, habit-building challenge that can change your body in positive ways after just 31 days.

Give it a try… it’s free, fun, and can be done anywhere (even on vacation).

Are you in?

It begins tomorrow, July 1st!

Let’s move forward together, one step at a time,

Debbie
